A lot has happened since we last spoke.
I’ve been to Egypt, Jordan and Israel on a Tabor study tour. I climbed Mt Sinai in time for sunrise where Moses received the Ten Commandments. I visited Bethlehem in the West bank where Jesus was born, Nazareth where he grew up, Capernaum where he started his ministry and Jerusalem where he died and rose again.
One Sabbath eve we visited the Western Wall. I saw a sign there that read
“The presence of God never leaves here.”
I came home and went back to work, counselling. I saw a couple in their early seventies who are both victims of domestic violence from each other after fifty-three years of marriage. I prayed and asked God to help me to help them. They are not Christians.
I came home to a neighbour asking for advice and comfort on a tragic situation where her teenage son’s best mate came home one day and found his mother had ended her life. They are not Christians.
In the Great Commission in Matthew 28: 18-20 Jesus says that He is with you always, to the very end of the age. He will never leave you.
- When you get up to see the sunrise, He is with you.
- When you stay all night caring for a sick loved one, He is with you.
- When you have a conversation with a neighbour, He is with you.
- When you pull the shades down and isolate yourself away, He is with you.
- When you celebrate a victory, big or small, He is with you.
The unseen sign that we wear reads, “The presence of God never leaves here.”
