God is with us all the time so we can be confident to call on His name.
The hard part then is to trust God for the big things in our lives even the tough ones.
My four-year-old granddaughter prays for the parking angel to find us a park when we go shopping. She says it works every time. I pray and call on the name of Jesus for many small and incidental every day things too. It’s easy to trust God in small things but do we trust God in the bigger things of life like a sickness, a major loss, an unhappy relationship, a betrayal, finances, a wayward child or loneliness and depression?
We struggle to trust Jesus in everything when we call on His name.
Past rejections, hurts, disappointments and tragedies challenge our belief that God is able to care for us. Our childlike faith doesn’t work anymore. Then we think God won’t use us because we have troubles and imperfections, so we pull back from ministry and leave that up to other people who seem to have it all together. We listen to sermons on how we are wonderfully made and that God has plans and purposes for us. But we scoff and believe nobody really cares. How can we trust when life isn’t how we want it to be?Our problem is not with God’s faithfulness, compassion and love because He is good and perfect.
The problem lies with our brokenness and lack of trust. How can we grow our trust? It is a matter of choice. We can choose to focus on our circumstances and loose heart or we can hand our troubles to Jesus and choose to trust in His sovereign love and power. We either believe He is in control or we don’t. We either believe He is intricately and wonderfully enmeshed with us or we don’t. We either believe He handles us with care or we don’t.God is calling women together, empowering them to work along with men to spread the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ to a hurting world. How can we minister to others if we don’t trust God with our own lives? It all depends on our core beliefs. Let’s be a group of women who are transformed to trust God in everything by the renewing of our minds and beliefs.
